Formentera between taste and tradition: celebrate local cuisine with two special food weeks May 12-25

Crystal clear sea, unspoiled landscapes and authentic flavors: Formentera is preparing to surprise travelers again this year with one of its tastiest initiatives. From May 12 to 25, the Balearic island will host a new edition of Gastronomic Weeks, a unique opportunity to experience Formentera through its most authentic soul: the culinary one. During this period, selected restaurants on the island will offer fixed-price menus designed to enhance the local cuisine. A true taste itinerary that invites you to rediscover ancient traditional recipes reinterpreted with a modern twist. Each dish will tell a story of sea, land and memory, making the gastronomic experience a journey to the truest heart of Formentera.

An invitation to travel … on the plate

Those who choose the island during this period will be able to participate in a sensory journey through typical flavors: from the freshest fish to the products of the earth, including vegetables, citrus fruits and local cheeses, each ingredient will be the protagonist of dishes that combine creativity and tradition. The proposed menus will range from iconic dishes such as: Salad payesa: with dried fish and local ingredients, Frit de polp: fried octopus according to an island recipe, Sofrit pagès: a rustic stew with meat, potatoes and herbs from the garden. And to end on a sweet note, there will be no shortage of typical desserts: Flaó: fresh cheese and mint cake, Orelletes: anise-scented pancakes, Greixonera: bread and cinnamon pudding, the perfect symbol of peasant cuisine.

A prize for the best menu and–also for the participants!

In addition to the pleasures of the palate, Gastronomic Weeks also provide a hint of adrenaline: the best menu will be awarded, and those who participate in the initiative can win a prestigious prize up for grabs, making the experience even more engaging.
