HIRIKO UCHIDA

Her minimalist, geometrically designed jewelry breaks the mold on how to wear and pair pearls, which have always been considered an accessory for formal, elegant mises.

Hiriko Uchida was born in Tokyo and is a pioneer in Japan’s pearl jewelry industry: her jewelry is versatile and elegant and can be paired with both casual and dressy outfits.

Her standards of quality and craftsmanship are extremely high and rigorous-everything is made to meet expectations in terms of workmanship, style, and creative brilliance. On several occasions Hiroko has collaborated with Mikimoto to design special series of jewelry using South Sea and Tahitian pearls.

Exceptionally careful about the materials she uses in the creation of her jewelry, which can be purchased at LENA International in Tokyo, Hiroko has her designer roots in fashion, which she then fused very elegantly into her jewelry designs, presenting beautiful organic baroque pearls for high jewelry, when only perfectly round pearls were the accepted standard. Hiroko pioneered the production of baroque pearls, a staple of everyday fashion in Japan and no longer just a luxury accessory for very formal occasions.
