Some evenings are not recounted: they are remembered. Such is the case with “The Truffle of the Two Hemispheres,” the multisensory experience staged in Monte Carlo, Lucca, thanks to the Chaine des Rôtisseurs – Bailliage Toscana Francigena.
An event that combined culinary art, champagne, live music and convivial spirit with rare harmony. In a nutshell, the event was able to highlight the authentic spirit and mission of the Chaine des Rôtisseurs, a very ancient gastronomic brotherhood present all over the world and founded back in 1248 by King Louis IX of the French.
Signing this refined direction, once again, was the wise vision of Giovanna Elettra Livreri, jurist, lawyer, creator of memorable events and President of the Bailliage Regional Toscana Francigena. With her recognizable touch, she skillfully transformed the meeting into a true celebration
of excellence, in the wake of the Chaine tradition but with a contemporary, sensitive and authentic gaze.

Guiding guests on a journey through the scents and flavors of the world’s truffles is Daniele Violoni, an innovative and eclectic organizer of sensory events based on the noble hypogean mushroom and professionnel de la Chaine, better known as The Lord Truffle.

A truffle sommelier and master trufflelier, he recounted-with
the intensity of a poet of taste-the meeting of two worlds: the black summer truffle of Le Marche and the rare Australian black truffle for the first time on the Italian table.
Two hemispheres, two identities, one common thread: the wonder of taste.
Interpreting this aromatic dialogue in a gastronomic key are the expert hands of Chef Antonio Pirozzi, Maître Restaurateur of the Chaine Toscana Francigena and owner of the restaurant Antico Forassiepi in Montecarlo (Lucca).

The menu, curated by the Bailliage’s gastronomic advisor, followed an elegant and intense gustatory narrative: from the langoustine cruditè to the Chianina battuta, passing through the Egg of Life with two truffles (a true tribute to Gualtiero Marchesi) to continue with the partridge ravioli, desired and loved by the President,

and with the sumptuous Lord’s fillet with two truffles and porcini mushrooms, ending with the two truffles milk cream paired with cherry cherry brandy and toasted hazelnut that surprised all the Guests. Nine courses all double the two truffles. Each dish a chapter, each bite an evocation

Opening the evening, unique in content and gourmet experience, was an aperitif on the grass terrace of the Forassiepi lookout, including Normandy oysters, finger food, shrimp and live show-cooking. All washed down not only with truffles from Lord Of Truffle, but also with Champagne Rosé Fournaise provided for the occasion by associate sommelier Cristina Davini‘s Cantina Casata Davini.

Embellishing it all is the elegant musical accompaniment with the intense and refined voice of young singer Margherita Giorgi, accompanied by Sergio Aloisio Rizzo on guitar and Franco Mariani on drums.

A repertoire that blended chanson françoise, American swing, and original songs, creating the perfect atmosphere: never intrusive, always enveloping, and even had the guests dancing.

Wines, masterfully selected by sommelier Marisa del Forassiepi, such as the white wine from Fattoria Carmignani of Montecarlo (Lucca), label URANO I.G.T., composed of 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc grapes with aromas of passion fruit, lychee, pineapple, citron and grapefruit, with a fresh green note of tomato leaf harmoniously completed an experience designed to enhance the senses, but above all to
celebrate meeting, sharing, bien vivre.

The event certainly did not go unnoticed, and among the evening’s VIP guests were the noblemen Guido Anzilotti of Uzzano, Michel Pentasuglia of Cuia d’Aragona of Florence, and with them Maestro Alberto Veronesi, Milan’s La Scala soprano Lucia Ellis Bertini, Roman artist Carlo Alvise Crispoldi, Roman architect Manuela Sciattella, Milanese architect Esmeralda Mapelli, The events manager of the Tuscan cigar manufactory Terry Nesti, artist Dana Regina Truno Brandeis.

Gourmet moments like these remind us that eno-gastronomy is not just about nourishment, but culture, art, beauty, conviviality and relationships. And the Chaine des Rôtisseurs Bailliage Regional Toscana Francigena continues to prove it, with style, passion and a vision that is never satisfied with the already seen.
Viva la Chaine!
