Velo Pizzaioli Popular Poetic Pizza Parlour

Velo – Pizzaioli Popolari is the most poetic pizzeria in Latina.

Opened three years ago by entrepreneurs and friends Costantino Sicconi, Luca Mastracci and Dario Scodavolpe, it has won 2 Gambero Rosso slices and is already 33rd in the 50 Top Pizza ranking.

Velo Pizzaioli Popolari is actually more than a pizzeria, it is a gathering place, a community, a place where cuisine, art and freedom merge. https://www.instagram.com/velo_pizzaiolipopolari/

Quality at popular prices, authenticity and conviviality a format as light as Velo’s pizza precisely because of its light dough. A dough, with a long leavening process, prepared with fine flours such as whole spelt, a fundamental cereal in the eating habits of Ancient Rome. All topping ingredients are fresh and come from small producers in the Agro Pontino area.

To celebrate the third anniversary Velo Pizzaioli Popolari signed its first artistic collaboration.

It was the turn of street artist duo Qwerty Project to artistically interpret the soul of popular Velo Pizzaioli.

Art and cooking are both popular, varied, and accessible so Qwerty Project came up with a Poetic Area.

A light installation steals the scene at the venue.

A gift-box in the 23×23 cm format, previewed during the November 17 evening in Latina, anticipated the brand’s new limited-edition take-out box, which will be launched in 2026. The box becomes a collector’s item and at the same time a poetic gesture: transforming pizza into an aesthetic experience.

“We believe that love has many forms. Ours is a clove.” That clove is now the symbol of Velo, a graphic sign that encapsulates its values-diversity, freedom, belonging, and creativity-and that today returns to prominence in the brand’s artistic collaboration with Qwerty Project

ZEMI was chosen by Qwerty Projectto be the protagonist of the Poetic Area project. ZEMI is an Arawak term for the spiritual and life force contained in sacred objects. Inside the segment that is the identity symbol of Velo, ZEMI is depicted in a multiplicity of colors, as if to represent the variety of food and the diversity of the people who share it. On the outside of the clove, however, pink, the brand’s distinctive color, dominates.

  • Velo Popular Pizzaioli the party

For the birthday party, Luca Mastracci and Alessio Cesarini put on a culinary “live show,” churning out goderecceous pizzas accompanied by glasses from the Famiglia Cotarella and Marco Carpineti wineries.

  • Pizza can be a poetic gesture, a collective act of love.

“Poetic Area” thus becomes a perfect metaphor for the Velo world: a place that never stops celebrating love in all its forms. Velo also looks to the future with the desire to open its doors to art high schools and local youth as well, Pizza – like art – remains a universal language, a gesture of freedom and belonging that unites people. “We believe that creativity, like pizza, is a collective and shared gesture. Love has many forms. Ours is a clove.”
