Vico Pizza Charms Capri

Vico Pizza&Bistrot’s gourmet pizza is coming to Capri.

VICO Pizza&Bistrot https://www.vicopizzaandwine.com draws pizza lovers to the heart of the most charming island, set in a beautiful Mediterranean garden among banana trees, ferns, and flower-filled corners.

  • VICO Pizza&Bistrot: an immersive experience

In Capri, in a nearly hidden spot along the road leading to the Certosa and the Gardens of Augustus, just a stone’s throw from the little square—the heart of shopping and strolling—you’ll come upon a portico adorned with bougainvillea that leads you to Vico Pizza & Bistrot.

The setting is the courtyard garden of the La Residenza hotel, which was established in the 1950s from the historic Villa Caterina, the former residence of Prince Caracciolo. The hotel is owned by the Palumbo De Angelis family, which has long been associated with the island’s hospitality industry and also owns VICO Roma and VICO Capri.

  • VICO Pizza&Bistrot enriches Capri’s “Dolce Vita” with the aromas of Naples’ most beloved product, presented in a new way.

A magical dough and a concept from Rome, featuring gourmet pizzas as well as a few other dishes.

It is the very young pizza chef Gennaro Lauro—born in Torre del Greco but trained at VICO in Rome—who kneads, rolls out, and bakes the dough, working at a counter topped with a handmade, monochrome Capodimonte ceramic slab featuring marine motifs.

Chef Giuseppe Squillante, on the other hand, creates some toppings in addition to the restaurant’s recipes.

17 pizzas—both traditional and innovative—and one calzone, the Neapolitan style. Carefully selected ingredients.

Tempting fried dishes such as the “Nero d’Arancino”—an arancino made with squid ink and stuffed with salt cod tartare—or “montanarine” like “Camilla,” filled with buffalo ricotta, zucchini flowers, guanciale, and Pecorino Romano DOP.

And then there’s the Bufala e Tartufo, or the Capri Marinara.

Among Vico’s Signature dishes: Crudo and Arugula, Four Cheeses and a Truffle, Crunchy Diavola, Nerano, and the Summer Genovese Pizza, braised Montoro onions, tuna tartare with lemon zest and ginger, cacioricotta cheese, mint, poppy and chia seeds, and basil with DOP extra virgin olive oil.

  • It’s not just pizza and cuisine—mixology is a hit, too

A dynamic and eclectic concept has emerged from the collaboration between Vico Bistrot, Salotto 42, and https://www.salotto42.it.

A true private lounge surrounded by greenery, where you can discover 26 cocktails and 4 mocktails, all made with high-quality ingredients and prepared in-house.

Start at the bar—perhaps with a Nini 42 or a Summer Margarita—and finish late into the night with a Panther 42 or a Senape&Kren Martini.

Of course, wines from Campania—and beyond—including sparkling wines from Italy and France.

  • VICO Pizza & Wine Rome

It all began in the capital with VICO Pizza&Wine Roma, located in a late 16th-century building complete with frescoed ceilings and the coat of arms of the Tudors who once lived there. A pizzeria that has made a name for itself, first and foremost, thanks to the prestige and beauty of its location. We’re located between Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. With Art Nouveau furnishings by Basile and a few works of art on the walls, it feels more like a Michelin-starred restaurant than a pizzeria.

Antonio Palumbo is the heart and soul of VICO Pizza and this new concept: a pizza universe centered on a new approach to dining hospitality. And the pizza is excellent—in fact, it has earned 3 Spicchi in the Gambero Rosso Guide to Italian Pizzerias.

Ciro De Vincenzo, a pizza chef born in Naples’ Quartieri Spagnoli neighborhood, brings the place to life with his expertise and passion. His ultra-light dough has won over locals thanks to a blend of oat, soy, and ancient grain flours, as well as his commitment to finding the very best toppings.

Passionate and generous, he began making dough at age 14. His passion, combined with his experience and precision, make him a master of dough-making, meticulous at every step. He works with suppliers he has personally selected, mostly from Campania but also from Lazio. From sea-aged Corbarino to buffalo mozzarella, everything is the best the market has to offer.

The menu features about twenty pizzas, including traditional and signature varieties, as well as two calzones, but also special treats like the pasta frittata, croquettes, and supplì , and the JR fried pizza.

Here, too, the oven is special because it was crafted using mosaic tiles by artisans from Vietri: the dome, covered in mosaic tiles, features a vibrant pattern of small red and green circles typical of the Amalfi Coast.

From Rome to Capri, Vico Pizza takes you on a journey that transforms the most popular food into a luxury experience.
