Volvo Fashion Week Mexico Guadalajara kicks off with the distinctive character of Guadalajara fashion.

The new edition of Volvo Fashion Week México was held in Guadalajara with a press conference that brought together platform directives, Volvo representatives, and local government authorities, welcoming an edition that has positioned the city as the epicenter of national fashion and celebrates the growth, relevance, and global rise of Mexican talent.

After the press conference, the day evolved to a red carpet and inauguration group where fashion moved from speech to presence. Special invitees, celebrities, and personalities were mentioned on a night that celebrated the start of Guadalajara Fashion Week amidst shared meetings, style, and energy, underscoring the tone of an edition focused on visibility and boosting local talent.

CALDERONI

Calderoni’s new collection becomes the starting point for the official uniforms of the Selección Nacional de México, reinterpreting men’s sastrería from a contemporary, precise, and deeply identifiable vision. Starting from these central parts, the brand builds a universe that balances the sophistication of Italian sastrería with the energy of soccer, proposing a versatile and current elegance.

The collection explores the intersection of the sporty and the refined, elevating the language of sportswear through clean silhouettes, high-quality materials, and restrained aesthetics. With a palette of neutral tones and sallow accents in tricolor, Calderoni presents a proposal that celebrates origin and modernity, where each piece exists to accompany and reinforce the presence of the uniform as a symbol of contemporary style and activity.

JULIA Y RENATA

Julia and Renata’s new collection is part of the act of naming as a conceptual eje: a gesture that designates, invokes and otorga identity, transforming voice into matter through fabric. Las piezas exploran distintos registros -del susurro al silencio- mediante una construcción morfologica de cortes, curvas y variaciones sutiles que generan tensión y fluidez.

The proposal is completed with a sound dimension borne by Ely Guerra, who reinterprets Zion and brings a live moment that intensifies the experience. The result is a collection that combines body, voice, and matter from a deeply sensory and contemporary vision.

OLMOS Y FLORES

The second day of Mexican Fashion Week in Guadalajara came together with the Olmos and Flores file in the Antiguo Colegio in San Diego, marking the start of the day with a deeply personal proposal that considers fashion as a process of transformation and memory. The signature, in the field of its essence, presented a collection that connected with origin and office, consolidating its narrative within the calendar.

Collection: “Barro”

“Barro” part of the earth as a metaphor for creation and evolution. Inspired by the process of the barro -que se moldea, se rompe y se reconstruye-, the translation collection esta transformation into garments that hablan de resilience, identity and permanence. ABEL LÓPEZ

Tras la presentación de Olmos y Flores, the day continued with Abel López, quien tomó the next round in the Edificio Arróniz, translating the day’s narrative into a more structural and architectural exploration of fashion.

Collection: Fall/Winter 26

Abel López’s proposal, in collaboration with Dione, meets its starting point in sculptural monumentality, referring to La Minerva as a symbol of strength and tapatío character. Esta inspiración se traduce en siluetas firmes, volúmenes definitidos y una construcción que evoca la solidez del mármol, sin caer en lo letteral, sino reinterpretando sus códigos en clave contemporánea.

Through an understated palette-gray, white, ochre, and black-and materials that simulate mineral surfaces, the collection builds a powerful and elegant visual narrative. Los destellos de lentejuelas, along with geometric accessories and clave collaborations, bring contrast and dynamism, resulting in a proposal where each garment functions as a pieza scultórica in motion.

ALFREDO MARTÍNEZ

Next, it was the turn of the official presentation by Alfredo Martínez, who gathered the day in a moment of strong identity, dedicating a clear and emotional focus to culture in honor of his homeland.

Collection: “Tapatia”

With “Tapatía,” Alfredo Martínez proposes a regreso a casa, drawing inspiration from the spirit of Guadalajara and mariachi imagery from a contemporary mirada. Lejos de lo letteral, the collection reinterprets the codes of traje charro through detalles precisis -botonaduras, moños and bordados- that elevate each piece with a sophisticated and deeply symbolic air.

The palette-white, black, and red-builds a continuous visual narrative, while materials such as seda, brocade, and stitch fabrics articulate a dialogue between the artisanal and the modern. The result is an intimate and powerful collection that honors identity, memory, and pride in its roots.

ARRRE

El cierre del día llegó con broche de oro de la mano de Alejandro Fernández y su marca ARRE, quien presentó “Hijo del Rey” SS26 come una declaración de identidad y legato. The collection is part of a path deeply explored in his personal and artistic history, building from there a proposal that considers fashion as an extension of a cultural trajectory that has transcended generations.

With Jalisco as raw material-present en la charrería, la música y la esencia de su tierra-the colección se traduce en un ready to wear contemporáneo con postura propria. Besides referencing references, ARRE proposes Mexican as a current and solid fashion language, reaffirming its roots with a vision that combines tradition, orgullo, and modernity.
