When Memory Takes Shape: Cotie’ Couture Tells the Story of Fashion as an Emotion

There are evenings that are remembered for a collection. Others, however, are remembered for the impression they leave behind. That’s the feeling that accompanies “Fashion Meets the Seventh Art, the event organized by Cotie’ Couture, which took place in the evocative setting of Villa Brasini in Rome. More than just a fashion show, it was a narrative in which fashion, cinema, and music found a natural common ground, transforming the runway into a space where every detail contributed to creating an emotional experience.

Soft lighting, evocative sets, and music guided the audience along a journey in which the garments seemed to step right out of a movie. Nothing appeared to be staged for the sake of impressing. Everything seemed to stem from a specific idea: to let the stories speak before the clothes even did.

Conceived by MariaCarla and Loredana Rodomonte, founders of Cotie’ Couture, under the creative direction of Anna Mazzucotelli, the project offered a reflection on fashion as a form of expression capable of preserving memories, identity, and personal experiences.

The audience included representatives from the worlds of fashion, culture, entertainment, publishing, and government. Though diverse, they were united by their curiosity to witness an event that sought to bring together different artistic expressions without losing its authenticity.

And authenticity is precisely the common thread running through the entire project.

Behind Cotie’ Couture lies not only a pursuit of style, but a personal story that continues to live on through every collection. It is a story of family, memories, and choices that have transformed a dream into a creative identity.

My journey began when I was a child, watching my mother and her style. Fifteen years ago, I created this project together with my sister, and after my father passed away, I decided to turn it into a brand dedicated to him. My brand isn’t meant to imitate anyone else; rather, it’s a project that tells each of our stories, celebrating our individual identities. “, says MariaCarla Rodomonte.

These words also help us understand what we see on the runway.

The garments do not seek to create a spectacular effect. They seem to spring from memories, encounters, and experiences that take shape through fabrics, silhouettes, and tailoring techniques. Each look conveys a sense of elegance that doesn’t need excess to make an impression.

Anna Mazzucotelli ’s creative direction complemented this vision by crafting a narrative inspired by cinema. Each look seemed like a still from a story left deliberately open-ended, capable of engaging the viewer without suggesting a single interpretation.

The brand’s international journey was also highlighted by Pia Mazzucco, editor-in-chief of Fairness Magazine, who noted that Cotie’ Couture’s creativity has already made its mark on the runway at London Fashion Week, helping to promote “Made in Italy” beyond national borders.

Among the most significant speeches was that of Fabio Saccuzzo, founder of the Atena Nike Award, who captured the essence of the project.

A reflection that captures the deeper meaning of the evening.

The story was accompanied by the music of Maestro Maurizio Mastrini, one of Italy’s most internationally acclaimed pianists, along with performances by the young artists Nyo and Mon Amour, who helped create a continuous dialogue between sound, image, and fashion.

In the end, it’s not a single outfit that sticks in your mind, but the overall atmosphere. The feeling of having witnessed something that goes beyond the presentation of a collection.

Because when a creation manages to preserve a memory, convey an identity, and evoke a genuine emotion, it ceases to be merely a fashion item.
